One Day Until the ‘Keep Watching the Skies! Science Fiction Movies of the 1950s Blogathon’!

In one day, my Keep Watching the Skies! Science Fiction Movies of the 1950s Blogathon will start.  I am delighted I can honor my favorite decade of my favorite film genre.  Whether you’re watching a cheesy, crappy one or a riveting, well-written spectacle, sci-fi movies from the 1950s provide a great source of entertainment (many of them deal with or have some basis in the very real fear people had back then of a nuclear holocaust and the Cold War).  Below is a list of those who are participating (there’s still time to join if you’d like):

The Cinematic Frontier: Forbidden Planet
Film Music Central: The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
“Destroy All Fanboys!”Gog
In the Good Old Days of Classic HollywoodDesk Set
Parlor of Horror: 20 Million Miles To Earth
Movierob: Destination Moon & From the Earth To the Moon
Musings of a Classic Film Addict: Creature From the Black Lagoon
The Midnite Drive-In: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
Moon In Gemini: The World, the Flesh, and the Devil
The Wonderful World of Cinema: 1984 (1956)
The Hitless Wonder Movie Blog: The Abominable Snowman (1957)
The Oak Drive-In: The Quatermass Xperiment
Old Hollywood Films: The Thing From Another World
Radiator Heaven: Them!
Some Polish American Guy Reviews Things: The Phantom From 10,000 Leagues
Wolffian Classic Movies Digest: The War of the Worlds & Invaders From Mars
CineMaven’s Essays From the Couch: Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (1958)

I look forward to reading everyone’s entries, and don’t forget to use the following hash tags on social media:
