Looking back on 2013, this year marked a big anniversary for the comic book character known as Superman. I’ve posted a couple of Superman movie reviews as well as a five-part series on why Bryan Singer shouldn’t have made Superman Returns. I visited Metropolis, Illinois on the weekend of my birthday and saw, amongst other things, the Superman statue and the Super Museum. At the NY Comic Con in October, Warner Bros. had a costume gallery showcasing various Superman-related costumes used for Superman TV shows and movies. There was also a panel at the NY Comic Con about the 75th anniversary of Superman (which I was unfortunate to miss out on). A special 75th anniversary animated Superman short was presented there, and has since been available online. I am proud to present that animated short (a collaboration between Bruce Timm and Man of Steel director Zack Snyder) below for those who have yet to see it.
