DP/30: The Sound of ‘Django Unchained’ Part Two

Quentin Tarantino’s latest film Django Unchained is currently playing in theaters to critical and box office success, and recently won two Golden Globes (Best Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor) and received five Academy Award nominations (Best Sound Editing, Best Cinematography, Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Picture).  Sound editor Wylie Stateman was the recipient of the nod for Best Sound Editing for Django Unchained, and he sat down with sound designer Harry Cohen last month to discuss the sound of Django Unchained and their work with director Quentin Tarantino.  It’s quite a fascinating listen, and I hope you enjoy this video:
