Composer Michael Giacchino recently sat down with the Soundworks Collection to discuss, among other things, his start in the music and film business, as well as his work with Pixar and his collaborations with J.J. Abrams and Brad Bird.  I’ve become a big fan of his in the last few years, not only of his scores for 2004’s The Incredibles and 2007’s Ratatouille, but also 2005’s The Family Stone, 2006’s Mission: Impossible III, 2008’s Cloverfield, 2009’s Star Trek, 2009’s Up (which brought him the Best Original Score Oscar), 2010’s Let Me In, 2011’s Super 8, and 2011’s Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol (and not to mention his work on TV’s Lost).  I can’t wait for his upcoming score for 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness.
