Schwarzenegger Set To Reprise Conan!

As soon as I heard that Arnold Schwarzenegger was going to reprise one of his most famous movie roles, I thought to myself, “Do we really need Eddie Murphy to join him and Danny DeVito in the Twins sequel?”  Kidding aside, I was really glad to hear the news that Arnold was going to play Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian once again.  The film, currently titled The Legend of Conan, is supposed to be a reboot but seems more like a sequel since it is directly tied to 1982’s Conan the Barbarian (The Legend of Conan reportedly will skip 1984’s awful Conan the Destroyer as well as the awful 2011 reboot with Jason Mamoa in the title role).  The story is supposed to be set near the end of Conan’s reign, picking up where the first film ended (the last shot of an older Conan sitting on his throne).  The most interesting quote I’ve heard about the project came from writer/producer Chris Morgan, who referred to the film as “Conan’s Unforgiven.”  That’s quite an expectation to live up to, and I sure hope it does.  In the meantime, I’ll be looking forward to seeing this film (please let it be at least as good as the original, if not better).
